I'd be filing a claim with eBay right now. Not as described indeed!!

Getting into the domain of silly... Nice clean copy, but I'd've thought the non-trivial (and conveniently pointed-out) scuff might've held the price back. Evidently not.

TACTICAL STUDIES RULES -TSR "WARRIORS OF MARS"  1974

$679.05   * sold *   (25 bids)
ended     Sun Feb 22nd  4:30pm EDT
Seller:  666atlaw

Their other early TSR items made for interesting reading the way they turned out, but I still liked that EGG-signed rebind job most (the $69 p&p killed that one for me :)).

For some reason this seller's items go above and beyond when it comes to prices. At least it seems that way to me. He has sold a lot of nice items

"666atlaw"... I wonder if he's one of those lawyers that has one of the many giant billboards you see driving up the I-15 freeway near the strip in LV billing their "Half Priced Lawyers" advertisement...

wait..I don't think their phone number had "666" in it and now it looks like they're out of business/in between problems

Half Price Lawyers UPDATE

anyways, sorry to derail the thread...

That one actually looked really interesting to me.  Then I saw the price.  Now it sold... maybe I should dig out my crates of similar...

Kind of high for a single book out of the set, but these didn't come shrink wrapped inside the boxed sets did they?

I bought these new and never saw them in SW in the box sets, or sold separately.

Yes, that mini box set is ridiculously priced.

My copy of Vol 1 does have them shrinked, but each set of four minibooks were all shrinked together to their tray insert, and the shrink was really tight. I've attached a photo of the trays in Vol 1. I did not buy it new myself, but don't have any reason to believe that they've been re-shrinked. I do have Vol 2 still in shrink, but am not intending on opening it.

I have also never seen these shrinked individually.

I looked at the ID history of that seller:

was this the "David Randall" guy from way back?

I went back through the shady dealers thread and found this from Dave of wargames east who posted

Re: Shady Dealers

however, I don't know if this "wargames-east2" is the real wargames east guy who posted in the thread above, or if it's the shady dealer Callahan/etc

I hate to say it but if I would have known about this auction I am sure I would have bid at least $250 on these little plastic critters...good thing there is not a thread for the silliest buyer of the year :)
