Okay, I currently have a shrinkwrapped copy of Blizzard Pass up for auction:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... RK:MESE:IT

As with all Blizzard Pass modules I have seen, it contains a blue & yellow pen.

This is an auction the ended a short while ago:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... eName=WDVW

I have never seen a Blizzard Pass with a pen that looks like that. . . but it does look like the pen from MSOLO2 (M2) Maze of the Riddling Minotaur.

Has anyone ever seen a Blizzard Pass with a pen that is all blue (instead of yellow and blue)?  Did TSR substitute pens in later print runs?  The Acaeum notes there is no distinguishing characteristics in different print runs.

Is it actually the pen from MSOLO2 ?

Opinions?

I can't tell for sure, but if you look at the picture, the shrinkwrap seems rather poorly done.  I suspect it's a rewrap.

Looks like the pen leaked too. If it turned out to be a rewrap, the seller would be in a bit of a bind, since he claims he bought it new. Would throw a damper on future auctions.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

I think its a clean copy. I've got two of these. One in shrink and one not. The one that is not in the shrink has a solid blue pen, too.

Maybe a coincidence, but probably not.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

We have two copies in shrink, one with the blue/yellow pen and one with the solid blue pen.  I would say that the above auction was authentic.

All the sealed M1's Ive seen are crappy looking in shrink.  I guess the pen offsets the pressure and they all start to warp.

I have my sealed one in a plastic magazine bag with cardboard backing and it still wants to curl.  the shrink has also become brittle around the pen too.

Anyhow I was disapointed my extra sealed M1 only sold for $13 and his sold for $40.  bleh.

This reminds me of another question I have.  What exactly is the "invisible ink pen"?

What can you substitute for a pen if the original is missing?

I actually have another Blizzard Pass in Shrink, but someone slit the shrink open and removed the pen.  This item would be ideal for someone who wants to actually play it. . . but what could be used to reveal the text?

Well cereal boxes a long time ago used to have little games that used invisible ink pens as well as other novelty items.  But I havent seen an invisible ink pen type product for a very long time.

I know that doesnt help much, but maybe it could give you a start in where to look.

Seconded

Sometimes you can find stores that sell invisible ink games (like 1-player 'battleship', for example) with new pens for maybe $5.

Often the 'print' on something at old has faded quite badly though.

Have you been to the Blizzard Pass Project link on Acaeum yet?

Double Wow.  I remember those on long family trips to Florida on I-95 when I was a kid.  I can't believe they're still around and so cheap...
I've bookmarked the page to buy some one day....  :D
