Can someone confirm this?:
I have noted in the past few weeks a huge number of guests online, especially early in the morning and at night (before 9 AM and after 10
PM
EST...GMT-4). I have been checking the site almost daily for about two years now and wondered if there has been an abnormal interest by the public eye or if I had just missed this phenomena previously.
Can anyone confirm? FoulFoot?

I can't confirm or deny this, but given the times described my first thought was "web admin is testing something".

I have also noticed this. 20 or 30 guests online.
I am not sure as to what the forum software counts as "guest", but maybe these are simply search bots? Surely, the site admin can enlighten us.

I've noticed that google has been indexing the forums, so it's entirely possible that several of the guests are searchbots of some sort.

I don't think these forums will ever see that degree of human traffic unless a direct forum link is put on the main page. Which would be both good and bad, of course.

They're largely searchbots (Google sends hordes of them now). They've recently increased due to my modifications, many of which are designed to increase the number of forum posts indexed by the search engines.
A front-page redesign is in the long-term plans, and a big part of that is putting the forum link on there, to increase the visibility. Or I may just add a "forum" button next to the "search" button and call it a day.
