I just had the chance to check back in on this discussion and I will say am thrilled by the interest expressed so far!

I am still working on specific details for the endeavor, but here is what I can share at this time.

First, for those who are interested in the unpublished material, my ultimate goal is to eventually produce those products. But, based on my communications with William John Wheeler years ago and recent discussions with Peter Rice, it sounds like those products where never really planned out, so anything developed would have to be built from the ground up. I'm not opposed to that but before I am willing to invest the time and effort to produce a product I feel is a worthy successor to the original Islandia modules, I want to make sure there is enough interest and that finances will be available to help fund such a project.

Second, for those who commented regarding what system the modules should use. I completely understand the interest in OSR, since that is basically what they were designed for. However, I also think making them "ready to run" for modern RPG's would also be a good idea, especially for newer DM's. I will definitely keep the feedback regarding this in mind. I have some ideas that I think will satisfy everyone.

Finally, at this point, everything is still in the planning stages. Now that the holidays are past, I hope to work out the remaining details over the next few months, with intention of starting a Kickstarter project in April or May.

I will make sure I keep everyone on here updated on the status. In the meantime, please spread the word!

Thanks!

I am interested as well, and hope this gets off the ground.

In doing a kickstarter, you can link revisions of the material (other editions of the game) to pledge levels reached.
I would love to see a 3.5/Pathfinder edition update, even though I am currently playing in a 5E game.

Please keep us updated.

Dave, get the barbarian in the corner a drink, quick!

I was thinking the same thing. I figure the stretch goals can include things like additional systems, such as Pathfinder/3.5, Savage Worlds, etc.

I'm also looking at stretch goals for i,proving the artwork, maps, etc.

I will definitely keep everyone here updated on the progress!

Not to derail the thread but here's as good a place as any for a Companions module question; I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the "map included" for Gems of Death is the b&w maps stapled into the center of the book...

Thanks!

Mine has one large fold-out map, something like 17x22 (or larger).  So yes.

It should have one large B&W map sheet with numerous smaller maps.  It also should contain a color map stapled into the center as well.  I returned a copy I bought because it was missing the color map, but was complete with the other map.

You can compare the maps using the table of contents list of maps to make sure you have all of them.

Still looking for a complete copy of this one....

Just adding a comment to keep the thread from disappearing...

I just picked up about 100 pages of Islandia campaign material from someone who played in Wm. John Wheeler's home campaign back in the 1980's. Lots of interesting Islandia history that I hadn't seen in print before.

So looking forward to this project!  I would be honored to help write Sacrifices to the Orc Lord and Abbey of Odeo, Lord of Hatred.  If any ideas can be gleaned from the notes, I will gladly help flesh these out.

Bill, do you know if that material could be published?  I'd volunteer to do that work if it was possible...

I doubt it would be able to be published without significant obstacles. But thank you for the offer Thom.

Well, the offer stands indefinitely.

Would love to see that Islandia work sometime.  A trip from New England to the midwest just keeps getting more important.

Does anyone know if a  'Treasure Troves II' was produced please?

I (like others) am unsure of the full listing of items produced by The Companions Inc....

I am aware (have) the items below ...but not sure if this is complete. If anyone can confirm - most grateful!

The Curse of Hareth
Plague of Terror
Brotherhood of the Bolt
Street of Gems
Gems for Death
Treasurre Troves I
Places of Mystery I - IV
Companion Pieces - Fantasy Furnishings
