From the estate of TSR executive Duke Seifried.  His widow wishes to sell, or trade for a condo with a small back yard.

We've heard various things about it.

"one of three made"

"Gary Gygax was buried with his."

"I have two just like it."

Anyone know anything about it?  Or want to hazard a guess on what it might go for at auction?

Thank you.

It is one of the rare ones. Frank of Bill would be able to tell you more.

I think he said it was one of three.

Will you be involved in listing/selling it?  I'm excited to see it come up for auction.

I was asked by Mrs. Seifried about this very item and I will repeat here what I told her in person. I bought Gary Gygax's personal one-of-one pewter Lizard man prototype mint condition belt buckle on ebay for $5,655 in November 2023. It obviously represents the most expensive possible example of a TSR belt buckle. The one-of-three belt buckles (of which there are a few) used to sell for about $1,000 each. They have risen in value along with other more unique pieces of TSR ephemera, and I would now appraise it between $2,000-$3,000 depending upon the condition it is in.

shthar, on the other thread you started two years ago, there is the info on an ebay sale of a different one-of-three belt buckle that sold in November of 2021 for $1,725.

One of the things that probably doesn't help this buckle is that the unenameled version is one of the most common buckles and also heavily faked.

I had the special enameled version made for just certain executives.
They were custom made, so different colors.
Duke was head of Sales, so he got this one.
Sorry, don't recall how many exactly. Praps 5.

My friends Dave & Gary made a quantum leap in the human soul. Remember them.

People FAKE belt buckles? The effort it must take seems like it would be a waste of time.
I'd consider buying it but I'm strapped for cash........
